Slow range of motion exercises:
Gently tense your neck muscles as you tilt your head up and down and from side to side, and as you carefully twist your neck from left to right. these exercises will help strengthen your neck muscles and improve your range of movement.Thus the muscles can release the pain.
Massaging the area of you neck will helps to reduce the pain and let you relax from the pain for some time. Do this at least once an hour for efficiency.
Make sure to do the massage in a circular motion.A gentle massage will help muscles to relax while increasing the blood circulations.This in turn helps to reduce the stiffness.
Slightly warm any oil and massage it around your neck. Take some warm bath that will also helps to reduce the pain.
Firm mattress without pillow:
This is a trick most of the people used and relaxed from the stiff neck. It is recommended not use pillow if you are suffering from stiff neck .That helps your neck to fix automatically while you are sleeping. It will be better if you are not using thick mattress. Use a firm mattress without pillow to get rid of the stiff neck.
Soft Neck Collar:
avoid wearing a neck collar, there is no evidence to suggest wearing a neck collar will help to heal your neck, and it’s generally better to keep your neck mobile or else where a neck collar which is soft and smooth.

– Roll your shoulders backward and down 10 times
– Squeeze your shoulder blades together 10 times
– Push your head backwards into your car head rest or hands and hold.it for 30 seconds
– Bring your ear to your shoulder 10 times each side

- Don’t use thick pillow. if possible, better not use the pillow at all.
- Sleep on your back if you can.
- Avoid neck strain while using mobile/laptop at work. don’t bend you neck to see the text.Make your neck comfortable.
- if you need to talk on a phone a lot, Use head set.
- Stay well hydrated.
- Carry weights eventually.
- Maintain good posture always.
